ferris wheel

it wasn't easy.
to smile when everything was falling apart.
to cover up the truth in my heart.
to trail past you without breaking peace.
to reach the opposite side of your darkened street.
with people telling me we were never gonna be.
with dozen others at my feet.

But it was easy,
for me to be captured by your eyes again.
to know falling for you wasn't just a trend.

the wait was worth it.
